Holy Grounds Cafe

Last night my wife and I went to the Holy Grounds Café in Escondido, CA at the Escondido Seventh-Day Adventist Church and as we were praising our hearts out, I had an outside thought come unbidden into my mind.. If we are only on this earth for an average of say.. 75 years or so, why do we act like this is the only life that we are going to live? This is just a tiny tiny tiny percentage of our full life, if we truly believe in Jesus. It’s a small thing to ask us to spend 75 years in the service of God with adversaries all around us and then the rest of our lives, once Jesus comes, praising, worshiping, and just plain rejoicing in a life that we can not even come close to imagining? and yet… we still hold on.. we still struggle with the problems of this life, we don’t completely let go, we think that our idea of life is much more enjoyable, more fulfilling, than what it would be if we gave our hearts and life completely over to Jesus. It baffles me, and yet.. Im one of those people :(

I pray Jesus, that you will help me to give my life over to you fully. Help me to see through this world that has been pulled over my eyes blinding me to your kingdom. Thank you for your mercy and your understanding. I love you. Amen.
