“A Father’s Blessing”, Esther 1-2; Acts 5:1-21
Be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil . . . , but on the contrary blessing. —1 Peter 3:8-9
My Daily Devotional begins with “Our Daily Bread” and then I use their “Bible In One Year” feature to get me through the Bible. Currently I am in Esther in the Old Testament and in Acts for the New.
“A Father’s Blessing“
Too often do I feel that I deserve to say something in anger, or I deserve to react the way that I reacted to whatever someone did to me, and many people would agree with me, but that’s not what the Bible teaches us. Just like this story, we need to love, we need to make sure that everyone around us knows that we love them truly and dearly, especially our children. I personally would like to help God leave this world a little better when I die. Dear God.. Help me to help you.
Esther 1-2
I didn’t realize God was not mentioned in Esther! Wow.. very interesting. The women that we’re up to be the next queen had to have 12 months of beauty treatments, six months with oil of myrrh and six months with perfumes and cosmetics! Yikes! How would you women like that?
So far the book is interesting, not much to comment on yet.
Acts 5:1-21
Ananias and Sapphira! Now if you are a liar this is most definitely something to think about. It was not the fact that they saved some of their money from their land that they sold, it was their money, but they lied and said that they were giving all the money they received from the land to the church. It’s harsh, no doubt about it, they didn’t even get to learn from their mistakes, but we also do not hear about anything else in their life. My guess is that their life was filled with this type of stuff and they had many chances to change and I guess enough was finally enough.
It seems that our faith has dwindled to practically nothing.. or nothing at all since all it takes is a mustard seed size of faith to move mountains. In the last days, there shall be prophesying, there shall be great miracles, which I take it to mean that in the last days we will finally have the faith that Jesus desires for us.
